On November 1, 2011, the TWOP founders had the idea for the world’s first App-generated photo agency. A photo agency for everyone, professionals and amateurs. Almost everyone has a digital camera or a cell phone camera – so why not let everyone sell those photos? Through a free mobile app.
The story as told by our CEO, Bernd Schmekel:
“I had a filming assignment (I am a film producer) that needed to be completed quickly and for this project, I required hundreds of photographs and video clips. If I had needed to purchase the footage myself we would have gone well over budget so I decided to call a few friends – in Cape Town, South Africa and other locations around the world – to get the images I needed. That’s when I realized – wouldn’t it be great if we could easily reach a global community of photographers to get the images we needed? And so the idea for TWOP was born.”
With our app, anyone can sell their photos, share them with friends and curate their own portfolio. All photographers retain full rights for their photos and can sell them as many times as they like. Prices vary from 5 to 80 euros per picture. All photographers earn 50%.
The Beta Version of our app has already launched – you can download it in the AppStore here – and we are working on releasing our first update soon. You can already upload your photos and offer them for sale.
