Whether you are an amateur photographer or a seasoned professional, selling your photos online isn’t always easy. There are, however, a few ways that you can optimize your sales.
1. Correctly Categorize and Tag your Photos
When using the TWOP App or another online portal to upload your photos, make sure to place your photo in the appropriate category and assign relevant tags. In the photo below, (to be found here on the TWOP Market) we have chose the category “flora and fauna” and the tags “pumpkin, fall, halloween, farm, harvest”. Make sure to vary your tags so that your photo can be found by people looking for different things!
2. Upload a high resolution
At The World of Pictures Photo Agency, we offer photos for sale in two resolutions – web and print. If you are able to offer both resolution levels, you will be more likely to make a sale!
3. Photograph something unique
This goes without saying, but believe me, we have a lot of (beautiful!) photos of flowers and trees. Try photographing something that is harder to capture – an exotic animal, a view from a hard to reach vantage point. With TWOP you can earn even more money with a photo of a news worthy event or a celebrity. And remember, the best photos are natural photos with real people (no models!)
4. Share your photo
Make sure to share your photo with your iFollow friends and your online community – you can even use the share button in the app to spread the word on Facebook and Twitter directly.- the more “likes” and views your photo receives, the higher it will appear in our Photo Agency shop rankings!
5. Get featured
We love to feature fantastic photographers here at TWOP. If you would like to be featured, send us an email at blog@theworldofpictures.com with a link to your TWOP profile!
Do you have any tips on how to best sell photos online? We’d love to hear them!
Until then – Happy TWOPing!
